SELANGOR-JDT TIED IN SHAH ALAM

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SELANGOR 1 - JOHOR DT 1

It was all square after the first meeting between Selangor and Johor DT in the 2015 M League season. Super League champions, JDT arrived in Shah Alam looking for a victory after losing to PDRM last week. Some fans also considered the match as a contest between the current Red Giants against their old boys, based on the number of ex-Selangor players in the opposite colours.

However, the Red Giants stunned their visitor with an early strike by Andik Vermansyah. The speedy Indonesian striker took the opportunity from the unsettled JDT defence.

The Southern Tigers created many chances but have to wait until the second half of the match to level the score line. Figueroa turned hero again as he converted a deflected Safiq Rahim's shot in the 62nd minute.

JDT can be considered lucky to escape from Shah Alam with one point despite having so many national stars in their squad.
