SELANGOR TAMED LIONS IN SHAH ALAM

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SELANGOR 1 - LIONS XII 0

Selangor collected another three points after taking down Lions XII at Shah Alam Stadium. Steve Pantelidis goal was enough for the Red Giants' narrow 1-0 win over Lions XII. The Australian, who was pushed to play in midfield by coach Mehmet Durakovic, headed in the winner in the 23rd minute for Selangor's eighth win.

The win is a perfect response from the Red Giants, after crashing out of the AFC Cup on Wednesday. Selangor also reclaimed second spot in the Super League with 27 points from 13 matches, and keeping the pressure on leaders Pahang who lead by a point and have played a game more.

Selangor got the breakthough when Pantelidis nodded in the goal after receiving a flick from striker Paulo Rangel. Andik Vermansyah and S. Kunalan were dangerous for the Lions' defence throughout the match. Lions struggled to get back into the game but Selangor held the fort perfectly.
