JOHOR DT CROWNED AFC CUP CHAMPIONS

AFC CUP FINAL: FC ISTIKLOL 0 - JOHOR DT 1

Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) created history after becoming the first Malaysian team to win an Asian level tournament. The Southern Tigers defeated Tajikistan's FC Istiklol 1-0 in the AFC Cup final at Republic Central Stadium on Saturday.

Leandro Velazquez turned hero for his team by scoring the winning goal. The Argentinian scored a volley after a poor clearance by Istiklol goalkeeper Nikola Stosic from a corner-kick in the 23rd minute.

Istiklol had three goals dissallowed for offside in the 14th, 52nd and 90th minutes by Japanese referee Minoru Tojo. Farizal Marlias played a fantastic game with his saves despite the home side's continuous pressures throughout the 90 minutes.

JDT's skipper, Safiq Rahim was also chosen to be the most valuable player of the tournament winner. The AFC Cup is JDT's second major title of the season after winning the Malaysian Super League.

PDRM FALLS, CONTI STARS FOR PAHANG

PIALA MALAYSIA: PDRM 0 - PAHANG 3

Pahang have booked the Malaysia Cup quarter-final slot after stunning PDRM with 3-0 at Shah Alam Stadium yesterday. Pahang striker, Dickson Nwakaeme netted the first goal for Tok Gajah through a fine lob in 28th minute. Zainal Abidin Hassan boys produce an even better when Mathias Conti striking a thunder bolt from distance for 2-0 two minutes later.

Pahang took a full control of the game in second half with chains of attacks. Mathias Conti once again played a pivotal role for Tok Gajah after the Argentine sent a bullet header for the third goal ten minutes before time for the club third win in five match played.

TERENGGANU TAME JDTII IN PASIR GUDANG

PIALA MALAYSIA: JDTII 1 - TERENGGANU 2

A second-half strike by Ismail Faruqi gave Terengganu a 2-1 victory over JDTII who squandered several good chance in Malaysia Cup competition at Pasir Gudang stadium yesterday. Terengganu now have 7 points from five games played and are equal with Kedah, only differed by goal different.

Issey Nakajima Farran broke the deadlock after eight minutes played while Shahrul Ishak leveled the game with a fine finish in 33rd minute. Ismail Faruqi then fired from penalty spot for the winning goal three minutes before time to put Terengganu back on track for the Malaysia Cup campaign.

SOUTHERN TIGERS TAME GLADIATORS TO TOP GROUP

​PIALA MALAYSIA: JOHOR DT 4 - ATM 0 
 
After confirming their spot in the 2015 AFC Cup final, Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) was in the right set of mind to perform better in Malaysia Cup competition. The Southern Tigers beat ATM at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium with 4-0 on Saturday to stretch their winning streak in Group B match.
 
A through pass by Luciano from the outside of penalty area in 12th minute offered S.Chanturu hit with a powerful shot to beat ATM goalkeeper Syed Adney for an early lead. Safiq Rahim doubled up the score 12 minutes later after collecting a deflected ball from Syed Adney due to Safee Sali shot.

JDT kept on piling the pressure on ATM defence and it paid off after Luciano hit the net for the third goal after receiving Mahali Jasuli cross in 36th minute. Subtitute, Nazrin Nawi completed the glorious night for JDT after his first touch went straight into the net for the fourth goal for JDT in 70th minute. JDT head coach, Mario Gomez was full of praise for the team after earning another three valuable points.

PERAK BEAT SARAWAK FOR MALAYSIA CUP FIRST WIN

​PIALA MALAYSIA: PERAK 1 - SARAWAK 0

Perak recorded their first win in the 2015 Malaysia Cup campaign after beating Sarawak 1-0 at Perak Stadium in Ipoh. Perak were out end their winless spell took control of the match from the start. Sarawak were not an easy meal for the Bos Gaurus. They held on Perak's pressure to a goal less first half.

Perak returned in the second half with more organized tactics. Bobby Gonzales finally broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute. Sarawak tried really hard to find the equalizer, but Perak defence played so well. The win was so meaningful for the home side to get the right motivation  to carry on their Malaysia Cup campaign.

AZAMMUDDIN, DICKSON GIVE PAHANG THREE POINTS IN SELAYANG

PIALA MALAYSIA: PKNS 0 - PAHANG 2

Pahang ensure their target to win the third consecutive Malaysia Cup is on track after beating PKNS in Selayang. The Elephants gave a good show before claiming a 2-0 win away from home.

PKNS did not give it up easily to their visitors. Both teams were equally good in the goalless first half.

However, Zainal Abidin's men put extra effort after the break. Mohd Azammuddin Akil found the net in the 52nd minute to give Pahang the lead.

PKNS tried to find the equalizer, but Pahang's defence was rock solid. Dickson Nwakaeme sealed the victory for the visitors in the added time from a spot kick after Gopinathan was brought down in the penalty area.

ATM FALL AGAIN TO HIGH FLYING SOUTHERN TIGERS

PIALA MALAYSIA: ATM 2 - JOHOR DT 3

Malaysia Super League champions Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) made it two wins from two in Group B after a 3-2 victory away to ATM. Fresh from winning their AFC Cup quarterfinal encounter against South China, the Southern Tigers took good control of the match in Paroi.

​Marcos Antonio opened the scoring in the 9th minute before Mahali Jasuli added the second for JDT in the 26th minute. The home side tried to fightback into the game but JDT was too good in controlling the game. They held on well until the break with the two goals cushion.

​​Safiq Rahim did not take long after the restart as he blasted a powerful free kick to beat Syed Adney in the 52nd minute. After leading with three goals, JDT slowed down their tempo and started to rest some players. ATM refused to back-down and gave JDT a lot of problems towards the end. 

Two late goals by Abdulafees and Jerry Palacious were not enough to deny a full three points for the visitors. JDT topped the group with six points while ATM are still struggling for the right form.

SAFEE SALI TURNS HERO FOR JDT IN AFC CUP

​AFC CUP: JOHOR DT 3 - SOUTH CHINA 1
JDT qualify into semifinal with 4-2 aggregate. 

Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) created history after becoming the first Malaysian team to qualify the AFC Cup semi-finals after defeating South China 3-1 in Hong Kong on Tuesday. The Southern Tigers survived with 10 players after the dismissal of striker Luciano Figueroa to record a 4-2 aggregate win in the quarter-final, second leg match.

The Malaysia Super League Champions took the lead in the 26th minute after Mahalli Jasuli opened the scoring. However, South China was quick to respond when Mahama Awal scored from close range for the equalizer. As the aggregate score tied at 2-2, JDT doubled their effort. Safee Sali reclaimed JDT's advantage when he scored into an unguarded net after South China goalkeeper Christian Mora failed to clear Figueroa powerful cross.

Figueroa was given a straight red card in the 36th minute by Qatari referee Fahad Al-Marri as he raised his elbow while challenging a high ball against Cheung Chi Yeung. Safee was left alone as centre forward after the dismissal. The national striker was very alert as he took advantage of a howler by Mora to give JDT a comfortable 3-1 lead before the break.

South China had a chance to reduce the deficit in the 88th minute, but Malisic failed to score from the penalty spot. It was an amazing break through by the Malaysian side. JDT will have to face either Al-Jaish (Syria) or defending champions, Al-Qadsia (Kuwait) in their historical semifinal.

JDT MAKE WINNING START IN MALAYSIA CUP CAMPAIGN

​PIALA MALAYSIA: JOHOR DT 2 - PERAK 0

Johor DT (JDT) Kicked-off their 2015 Malaysia Cup campaign in style with a 2-0 victory over Perak at Larkin Stadium on Friday night. The Malaysia Super League Champions are looking good in chasing a trophy double this season. 

The Southern Tigers scored two goals in three first half minutes to grab early control of the game against a dangerous Perak side in the Group B encounter.

​National striker Safee Sali opened the scoring in the 17th minute after receiving a pass from S.Chanturu. And the homeside took another advantage three minutes later when Chanturu added the second by himself.

Despite their best efforts, Perak weren't able to get back into the match in the second half with JDT comfortably in command. Their evening was further soured when defender Hisyamuddin Shaari was shown a 90th minute red card.



FELDA UNITED SINK T-TEAM IN SELAYANG

​PIALA MALAYSIA: FELDA UNITED 3 - T-TEAM 0

Felda United cruised to an easy 3-0 win over T-Team in their Malaysia Cup opening match in Selayang. The visitor had no answer against the Fighters who played a very impressive game. 

​​Makeche Ndumba drew first blood in the 35th minute. The Zambian striker made no mistake ofter receiving a pass from Zah Rahan Krangar. Three minutes later, Indraputra Mahayuddin put his team in a more comfortable position. Ferris Danial was brought down and Indraputra made no mistake from the penalty spot.

​T-Team tried to improve their game in the second half. However, Felda United was not in the mood to give space to their visitors to make a comeback. Ndumba once again put his name on the score sheet, winning the game for the Fighters 3-0.
